The responsibilities I carry out as the Business Center Supervisor include:- Print/Design/Edit projects for guests and colleagues- Shipping/Receiving Supervisor - Receive and accurately store incoming shipments for guests and colleagues - Deliver materials on a timely manner to clients and colleagues - Accurately ship materials for guests and colleagues- Oversee four employees- Guest relations- Work extended hours (6 days a week, 40+ hours)- Attend conferences with head clients for incoming groups- Order supplies that all departments use- Pay the bills for the department- Work with Sales Managers to bring in more business- Carry out the billing of guests and departments- Research and purchase new equipment to improve the resort- Collect inventory of supplies at the end of every monthThe Purchasing Director oversees the Business Center. I work directly with her, Julie Wilson and have learned:- The appropriate vendors to order product from- Banquet kitchen terminology- Code invoices- Collect inventory for food/beverage products at the end of every monthI work with others on a daily basis. I constantly receive great feedback from guests and colleagues. I set people up for success and make others feel comfortable when they work with me.

Through working as a Houseman at the Arizona Grand Resort & Spa, I learned the importance of using teamwork to complete tasks in a timely manner. I learned abruptly that communication was key in achieving success & we performed it flawlessly. Working as a Houseman opened up my eyes to the depth my words and actions have on others. I treated guests and colleagues genuinely and I showed my level of appreciation to them. I would constantly go out of my way to make sure that everyone was setup for success.Tasks Include:- Communication- Teamwork- Guest Relations- Setting tables, chairs, props (plants, art, decorations, etc.), dance floor, stages, podiums, registration desks, etc.- Working both indoor & outdoor, regardless of weather conditions- Learning how to translate downtime to getting ahead & setting people up for success (completing tasks for the next shift)

I was an apprentice for a carpenter. The job was more of handyman work. We, Craig Stewart & I, installed tile, installed appliances, took down various structures, built patio covers, shingled rooftops, painted indoor & outdoor. It was a great opportunity that I accepted a month after graduating high school. I learned skills that are not only necessary for projects I may have at home, but also for working with others.
