About Avery Panza
I have an extensive knowledge of Geographic Information Systems. At UMass Amherst I have acquired over 6 years experience with ESRI products, QGIS, ENVI as well as unmanned aerial systems. I am currently working to secure my pilots licence for drone flights and I have a huge interest in GPS, land and aerial surveys. While at UMass Amherst I worked as a teaching assistant for intro GIS courses. I have worked as a GIS consultant for REWC Environmental consulting, working closely with GPS experts and data collection devices such as Trimble and Terra sync. During school I helped to found an events company BlockPartyGroup as well as founded a college gymnastics team. As a side project, I am starting a non-profit targeting trash accumulation in local communities with the help of GIS technologies and with the goal of community organized cleanups. I was a competitive gymnast my entire life, and I have worked on and off as a gymnastics instructor since I was 16. I have found that I don't like to stand idle, and I find that my commitment level and work ethic especially on team based projects and organizing work flows to be fulfilling. I am currently perusing my masters in GIS technology this coming year, and I hope to garner some work experience this summer and moving forward.
