My 5 Pillars of Care1. Love of Children. I am a caregiver by nature, I genuinely have a passion for serving children. It’s a great honor to be their caregiver. To me, the love for children is the foundation that everything else is built upon. 2. Enthusiastic. Caregivers work hard, long hours days & nights and we have a lot of responsibilities. I allow my natural enthusiasm for working with children to lead me throughout the day. I have the ability to remain excited about coming to work day after day, something I find very important in making connections with children, so that our time together is enjoyable. 3. Fun. Being a child is all about FUN. I truly enjoy my time with children, I like planning well rounded days that are both fun and educational. I also find importance in laughter, being silly, finding humor in everyday situations, and having an upbeat spirit on life are some of my key elements 4.Nurturing. Being able to connect on a deeper level allows for the development of creating safer spaces for children, establishing loving relationships and offers a stable environment. I find it important to be, sensitive to your child's individual needs, create an engaging day around their interest, and tailoring my caregiving style to mesh with their personalities and temperament. I am committed to staying on the job to provide that all important continuity of care. 5. Experience. My experiences have taught me to nurture and teach from a holistic approach. As an educator, connecting with the whole child, mind, body, spirit, social, emotional, physical, and intelligence, not only helps the child exceed developmental milestones, but also helps everyone involved. Helping a child reach their developmental milestones should be a collaborative effort. I encourage curiosity, consciousness and selfdiscovery. My Child Development Associate Degree expands my experiences and established the foundation of my 5 Pilars of Care. It fuses collaboration with family, community and child.
