▸Project: Abiotic Stress Resistance in Rice Ran rice RNA-seq data through a sequence analysis pipeline. High-throughput sequence analysis was conducted using fastx_toolkit (quality control), bowtie2/tophat (genome mapping), and cufflinks (differential expression analysis). Coded python scripts to generate command lines for all 36 samples by reading in an excel file and partitioning samples into appropriate subgroups. ▸Project: Network Analysis of the Plum Genome Utilized the WGCNA package to cluster plum genes with metabolic data and identify clusters associated with hormone production. Visualized gene clusters in Cytoscape to identify important transcription factors. Utilized tools such BinGO/ClueGO for GO annotation of plum transcription factors. ▸General Research Responsibilities Extracted RNA from Arabidopsis and reverse transcribed into cDNA. Analyzed expression through qPCR. Cultivated bacteria, measured growth with a spectrophotometer, and calculated a general growth curve. General plant care including harvesting/washing seeds and transferring seedlings. Prepared various media for experiments regarding plant growth.
