Avery is an investor/operator at Jakobson Properties, a private investment firm primarily focused on residential real estate in NYC and commercial real estate in Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, Florida and Rhode Island. Avery also leads the diversified non-real estate investment portfolio - spanning from early stage venture capital to growth equity, public equities/credit, private debt and a growing presence in farmland in the Western US. Avery spent close a decade at Wells Fargo in both New York City and San Francisco, beginning as a commodity derivatives salesman and trader, pivoting to leading special projects for the CIO portfolio, and rising to SVP in the bank's new Sustainable Technology practice, where he covered AgrifoodTech, Clean Transportation, and Clean Energy verticals.Avery also consults for quickly growing younger organizations, focusing on financial strategy, structure, marketing, and growth. Avery earned his BA in Individualized Study with a concentration in Political Economy and Financial Crises from NYU.
