Proper edge coloring is a classical problem in graph theory and hasapplications in a wide range of scheduling problems. A generalization ofthis problem is when the edges already have colors that may not bealtered. The problem suggests finding a proper maximum tree in a generaledge-colored graph. As it is an NP-hard problem, hence we used aheuristic approach to get a good enough solution in practice.
