    B-SkillFUL aims to train 40,000 poor and disadvantaged men and women in demand driven skills and place at least 70% of them in gainful employment. This will ensure access to the labour market for the unemployed labourers and provide higher earning opportunities for the underemployed ones. The project also aims to improve their working conditions by informing enterprises on benefits of decent work environment. A special focus is given to women (55% of the total target), ethnic and religious minority groups and Differently Abled People. The project facilitates implementation of training programmes through local Training Service Providers (TSPs) in Dinajpur, Joypurhat, Bogura, Tangail, Gazipur and Jashore. The partner TSPs provide training in 18 occupations, broadly classified in sectors such as RMG, construction, electrical and electronics, furniture, automobile etc.

    I am coordinating a team of several research associates in several research projects. My recent research projects include regional trade integration, the role of private and public institutions partnered with USAID, improvement of the compliant mechanism system for the migrant workers with ILO, preparation of the sector action plan for Economic Governance in Bangladesh in collaboration with UNDP and Planning Ministry of Bangladesh. Recently, two of my works, “Expanding Access to Express Courier Services through the Benapole-Petrapole Land Ports” and “Optimizing Cross-Border Trade Operations between Bangladesh and India”, with Professor Dr. Selim Raihan, a prolific macroeconomist in South Asia, got published as a research report by USAID Washington. I played a major role in the survey, visiting India and interviewing high-level officials there and preparing the key parts of the insights. Moreover, I helped Dr. Raihan in writing the reports and analysis of the data. Currently, I am working on writing a book chapter on the impact of education on economic growth in Bangladesh with Dr. Raihan for an upcoming book on Bangladesh Development Challenges. Apart from my involvement in research projects, I have received rigorous training of utilizing quantitative statistical software STATA for economic modeling such as Gravity modeling. In addition, I have the basic orientation on using GAMS to utilize CGE modeling using the idea of social accounting matrix (SAM).

    The Fred Hollows Foundation Bangladesh is an Australian NGO supported by DFAT and Ausaid. I worked here as a project officer. My major role and responsibility was to design program and proposals for new funding. I worked in the development and design of 5 new programs/proposals to be funded. 3 of them got funding. "Seeing is Believing", a 1 million USD program for 4 years, got accepted by Standard Chartered Bank with support from IAPB ( International Association for Prevention of Blindness). Another proposal was accepted by The Fred Hollows headquarter in Sydney on Diabetic Retinopathy (DR), this is also a million dollar project for 4 years. In addition to these I solely developed and designed a pilot project on the "Eye health care service provision facilities for ready made garment (RMG) industry female workers in Bangladesh. It was under a call for proposal of innovative project on gender among The Foundation's (FHF) 19 member countries all around the world. Bangladesh won the funding of 100,000 AUD for a one year pilot project and I was the only responsible person in developing each components of the project such as Monitoring and Result Measurement(MRM) framework, risk assessment, budget and log-frame matrix. I worked directly under the country manager and program coordinator. For, several tasks I had to report directly to the Sydney head office and UAE's regional office.I participated several in house workshops arranged and facilitated by the Sydney and regional office i.e. Gender Inclusion workshop, advocacy workshop, program design and planning, child protection strategy and MRM workshop.
