I got about 40,000 out of about 100,000 votes cast and I lost by a 20% margin ...My opponents spent nearly half a $million on direct mail and TV spots while I ran a grass roots door knock and meet+greet campaign in over 20 towns (I never once saw my opponents campaign in public directly) while raising about $15,000 in contributions for direct mail and robocalls. Such is politics these days. Nevertheless I am very grateful for the opportunity to participate in the process..

Served as a Special Advisor to University's CIO as well as delivery lead for the University's CUNYfirst program, to deploy the PeopleSoft suite of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools including, Finance, Human Capital Management, and Campus Solutions. CUNYfirst is one of the most complex ERP implementations of Peoplesoft ever attempted at a large urban university. Responsibilities included the management of the program's PMO, technical development team, User Acceptance Test team and systems integrator's contract administration.

Responsible for all aspects of information technology strategy, policy and service delivery at NYCHA, the largest public housing authority in North America. In collaboration with peer executives, led the on-time, on-budget implementation of NYCHA’s ERP initiative. Demonstrated skill in applying IT portfolio management principles to support IT investment decisions, project prioritization and management; created a technology vision ( see http://www.nyc.gov/html/nycha/downloads/pdf/NYCHA2007ITStrategicPlanVol1.pdf ) and developed strategies for implementing new IT initiatives; provided technical direction to the organization in support of NYCHA’s business goals.

Responsible for executive management and policy formulation related to business relations and quality service levels for over 65 client agencies of DoITT's Information Utility, an OS390 equipped mainframe data center consisting of 1800 MIPS of processing power, supporting 124 mission critical business applications for 30 key City agencies. This included a Multi-protocol Data Communications Network and enterprise-wide Electronic Mail facility supporting nearly 200,000 users. Served as a key member of Executive Steering Committees in the development of strategic directions for information technology in New York City. Participated in design and planning of a new Technology Center at MetroTech, the CITYNET multi-protocol internetwork and led the implementation of the technology infrastructure and governance supporting NYC.gov, the City’s award winning web presence (NYC.gov was one of the first public sector web sites to be recognized with several national awards between 1996 and 2000). Provided leadership in the ongoing identification, evaluation, adoption and application of other advanced information systems technologies. Negotiated and managed the fulfillment of client and technical requirements to implement the consolidation of several large City agency data centers into a centrally managed information utility, resulting in significant savings related to hardware and software maintenance and licensing costs.
