Project intern for the project titled "Conceptual design of vane control mechanism" and its implementation on an unmanned aerial vehicle.Objective: Create a conceptual design of a controlling mechanism for unmanned aircraft using vanes, implementing thrust vectoring for control. The craft to be capable of carrying out operations such as reconnaissance and surveillance.Project involved weight estimation, thrust vectoring, computational modelling and structural design of the unmanned aircraft and computational fluid analyses of the propeller in a duct mounting location.Key elements1. Developed a conceptual design of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with vertical flight capability having no exposed control surfaces.2. Designed the aircraft in a flying wing configuration with rotors mounted in the wings and directional control using thrust vectoring.3. Designed the control mechanism to redirect air from the propulsion system to control the aircraft.4. Analyzed propeller model using high fidelity model to study the draft which would directly impact the vanes for control of the UAV.
