As the Chief Electrical Engineer for SDSU's Formula SAE Electric team, I lead a dynamic team of over 40 engineering students in designing, developing, and implementing the electrical systems of our Formula SAE Electric racecar. My leadership is characterized by a hands-on approach in managing key components like the accumulator, motor and inverter, PCBs, emergency stops for safety systems, and data acquisition sensors. A key achievement under my leadership is the formation of our first software team, which has developed advanced software enhancing the functionality of our hardware team's PCBs, a new data acquisition system, and an intuitive database to optimize data utilization by our engineers. Utilizing detailed Gantt charts, I ensure timely project delivery while upholding strict safety protocols. My focus extends beyond immediate project completion, as I actively work on improving team documentation to ensure robust knowledge transfer, laying the foundation for continuous learning and improvement. This foresight prepares our team not only to build on our current successes but also to innovate and excel in future years.

Lead Engineer for our energy storage system at Aztec Electric Racing. I led a team of six engineering students in designing and developing our accumulator, a vital component of our electric racecar. My role involved conducting in-depth research on 18650 cells and implementing critical safety systems to ensure the reliability and safety of our accumulator. One of our major achievements was a 30% reduction in voltage drop, significantly enhancing the system's efficiency by optimizing the high voltage path and minimizing resistance points. The construction of the accumulator was a complex undertaking, encompassing intricate work with over 300 feet of wiring, more than 500 crimps, and over 150 solder joints. I oversaw the fabrication and conducted comprehensive quality assurance testing for the entire harness. Additionally, my responsibilities included a detailed analysis of the 139-page Formula SAE rulebook, which I translated into an exhaustive system requirements document for our subsystem, ensuring compliance and sharpening our design's precision.
