I currently lead the teams responsible for Stripe’s data infrastructure. This spans across technologies supporting streaming systems (events and queues), large scale data processing, search, analytics and the data lake infrastructure. We are building the next generation of high scale data infra to help support and further fuel the steep growth that Stripe is experiencing. The stack is built on several popular technologies like Kafka, Flink, Spark, Hadoop, Iceberg, Elasticsearch, Presto/Trino, Pinot, AWS S3, SQS etc. Prior to Stripe, I worked at Amazon. Worked in Amazon Retail (pricing, make-on-demand and fulfillment technologies), Amazon Digital (core appstore services and developer consoles) and Amazon Web Services (Kinesis, Kafka and S3)Specifically, - I lead the Storage Management-Actions organization within AWS S3 (https://aws.amazon.com/s3/) which includes S3 Object Lifecycle Management, Batch Operations and Async APIs. - Built new tech organizations in Cambridge,UK for Managed Streaming for Kafka and Managed Kafka Connect.- Built an org in Amazon HQ (Seattle) to launch manufacturing and fulfillment platforms which supported Amazon's make-on-demand business (Merch By Amazon).- Managed the competitive pricing team which owned large scale distributed systems generating sharp prices for multiple Amazon businesses (retail, Prime Now, Fresh, B2B, Amazon Go etc.) worldwide. - Managed the Compatibility Services and Developer Console teams for the Amazon Appstore. Other notable professional experiences include formulating multi year roadmaps/programs and presenting to senior leaders, heading international recruiting trips and managing employees of varied technical roles (Software developers, software managers, technical program managers, research/applied scientists, system engineers, data engineers and quality assurance engineers).
