I was born in the spring of 1977 in Bikaner, Rajasthan. My humble upbringing and observation of the struggle and the pain my parents went through to bring up my other two siblings with the right values and spirit set a fire in my belly to learn and make the most of whatever was spread on a platter in front of me.Never satisfied with mediocrity, I strived to excel in all that I ventured into, be it Academics, Public Speaking, Anchoring Events, Quizzing, Adventure Sports, Generating Employment for Deaf, Orphan Community.As a young man, I knew my time was about to come and so I got myself chiseling with an axe, taking responsibilities, doing small-time jobs to help ease the burden on my parents along with my studies.Life certainly does acknowledge sincere and honest hard work. My zeal to work round the clock with creativity saw me becoming the VP (Sales & Marketing), Kohinoor Steel Pvt. Ltd. and bestowing me with the ‘Rashtriya Yuwa Vikas Ratan Award-Gold Medal’ by the IEDRA, New Delhi for my contributions in CSR.Statistics prove that sales at Kohinoor touched a new horizon after my taking over. This is NOT a statement of arrogance but a testimony of the hard work of the team led by me.My passion for travelling on those random vacations exposed me to new places and the world opened out to me. Meeting people, learning, and adopting their ways got the better of me and triggered an unknown desire to go beyond, and do something different.It was during these random trips that I got to discover my love for TEA and TISANE.A very highly paid job, security, and a place in the society that I had carved for myself, I let go of like the wind one fine day to follow my wild passion “My love for tea”.Letting go of my plush office apartment, I started trudging with a push cart for more than six months, met different people from various walks of life, and sat through their stories till one day, I met my purpose, a #Deaf lady.An outlet was what I sought for my wares and after running block to block, I found the place for my tea lounge.“La Gravitea” is what I christened it on July 28, 2016.The challenge of grooming the specially challenged team to serve and impress the customers called for routine monitoring, motivation, and constant hand-holding. It took a while to help them let go of their apprehensions, passive lifestyle, and dependence they were used to.Learning Sign Language helped me connect and help realize their potential faster.Today, they run “La Gravitea” with panache.
