During my time at Edcon I was afforded the opportunityto manage two of its largest flagship stores nationally,being Edgars Gateway and Edgars Westville whichexceed moving annual turnovers of R280 million each. Aspart of my further development and career growth withthe Edcon Group I was selected to lead and manage allAdmin functions for the KZN region, which included a totalof 18 stores. My responsibilities included the overallmanagement of Risk, Stock Admin, Cash Admin andFinancial Management. Here I had developed, mentoredand coached all other Store Admin Managers in theabovementioned areas.With the appointment of the new CEO, Edcon is currentlyembarking on the introduction of a new Strategic Plan,herein my role is to head the lever of Optimising StoreCompliance for the division. My role involves minimisingcomplexity and creating predictability while still increasingproductivity in the areas of Centralised Store Returns,Returns to Vendors, Management of Data Integrity andthe Management of Price Adjustments and Markdownswhilst driving the increase of turnover and profitability.Furthermore I was presented with the opportunity todevelop myself through the rewarding experience ofhaving to introduce, launch and manage variousinternational brands including River Island, Tom Tailor,Lucky Brand, TM Lewin, Topshop, Lipsy, Express, ThomasSabo, Swarovski and many cosmetic brands among othermanagerial functions. I have also been instrumental inleading many projects within the Edgars KZN Division suchas piloting new systems and stock control proceduresrelating to the introduction of these brands.
