I have obtained an undergraduate degree in Applied Electronics and Instrumentation and my Masters in Astronomical Instrumentation. I have submitted my PhD thesis in Astronomical Instrumentation. I have been a research scholar at the Indian Institute of Astrophysics from 2010 till February 2018, during which I have designed and fabricated two instruments relevant to astronomy.The first was a lunar scintillometer which could derive the nature of ground layer atmospheric turbulence from the minute fluctuations in moonlight caused by the same. I fabricated, tested, calibrated and helped in commissioning the instrument at a remote Himalayan site. The second instrument called SPARC (Scalable Platform for Adaptive optics Real-time Control) was aimed at testing the feasibility of using FPGAs as the computing platform for real-time sensing and correction of atmospheric turbulence. SPARC was demonstrated as a prototype platform for future Adaptive Optics systems, and the possibility of using the architecture of SPARC as a common code framework for future Adaptive Optics kernels was explored. I am proficient in the field of electronics and have a high level of working experience in digital system design including VHDL programming and hardware interfaces. I also have working knowledge of performing simulations and statistical data analyses. I am interested in Adaptive Optics, exoplanets, real time control systems and FPGAs.
