What do Lawyers, Building Professionals, Engineers and Architects have in common? The BDPS! The BDPS is a not-for-profit organisation who host monthly events, covering a range of topics relevant to the building industry in Australia. My role is to assist the committee members with whatever it is they need - event registrations, nametag creation, answering questions re our online system, updating the website, uploading events and running reports.More importantly, I'm the 'go-to' lady for the members/non member who need assistance with their membership or event registration. Having been their admin assistant for years now, I've had the privilege of working with a number of committee members as they come and go. Variety is the spice of a VAs life!

ANZI Coaching, my very first client in the VA world. Sally runs an business where Coaches can become Accredited and receive Professional Development. Coaching schools have aligned with ANZI Coaching so their coaching students can gain accreditation with us once they have graduated. Webinars are run for members as well as group supervision sessions where they can ask for feedback on their coaching and so on. And that's where I come in, I'm the supervision co-ordinator.I set up times, use GoTo Webinar to set up the event, create the event in Infusionsoft and upload it to the website. Then I make sure I meet the supervisor online before the event, make sure all attendees can log in, and troubleshoot any issues.

Working for the Chair of the Victorian Psychiatry Training Committee, I was responsible for all of the administration of the training program. This role was my first taste of what was involved in being a PA and I loved it. It was varied, it was interesting and it made me realise that I could do this for myself, run my own business, and work from home.

Ah, my first job in the real world as an adult. This has no relevance to my current work life.
