- Effectively utilize client-centred psychotherapeutic techniques and supportive counselling skills when conducting one-on-one therapy with clients. - Establish and maintain therapeutic rapport with clients while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.- Utilize therapeutic counselling approaches and techniques that are consistent with an understanding of the individual in the context of family, gender, sex, ethnicity and/or age.- Collaborate with clients when creating a comprehensive treatment plan that best suits their needs and goals.- Manage client records using FYIdb Electronic Medical Records software, keeping with agency policies and procedures, as well as professional ethics.- Respond appropriately and quickly to crisis situations.

- Conduct structured and thorough intake assessment interviews to establish a history of presenting problems/symptomology with a client seeking mental health/addiction treatment using a Bio-Psycho-Social framework.- Effectively use client-centred psychotherapeutic techniques and supportive counselling skills, including, psycho-educational groups and process groups.- Participate in the development of a comprehensive treatment plan based on assessment results and client goals.- Assist clients in connecting with appropriate referral resources in the community to support treatment goals and/or in response to a therapeutic need.- Organize client records using Kipu Electronic Medical Records, documenting progress of each client during their stay.

- Provide a safe and comforting environment for hospital inpatients to engage in friendly conversations and strengthen their social skills.- Strengthen interpersonal and communication skills when engaging with varying mental health and addictions populations.- Manage the operation of the Drop-in Centre independently, including opening and closing procedures.- Supervise and train new volunteers on effective and appropriate operation of the Drop-in Centre.- Enhance understanding of community resources and the provincial mental health and addictions system through participation in education sessions, site tours, and observation of individual and group support programs.
