As a water engineer with a PhD, MEng, and BSc from the University of Sheffield, I have over five years of experience in conducting physical and biological laboratory testing, field work, and modelling to assess the potential benefits and risks of using food waste disposers to divert domestic food waste from landfill and recover energy through anaerobic digestion at wastewater treatment plants. This was part of the Food Waste Disposers, Sewers and the Circular Economy project, which aimed to contribute to the sustainable management of domestic food waste and the enhancement of the circular economy.I have strong problem solving, presentation, and communication skills, which I have demonstrated through publishing and presenting my research at international conferences, collaborating with academic and industrial partners, and engaging with stakeholders and the public. I am passionate about applying my knowledge and skills in water engineering, bioprocess engineering, and biochemistry and microbiology to address environmental and social challenges and to create innovative solutions for water and wastewater treatment and resource recovery.
