Avian and exotic general practice ABVP-Avian resident. Veterinarian duties include wellness visits, routine surgery, sick patient visits, urgent care, soft tissue surgery, and emergency procedures on dogs, cats, avian patients, wildlife rehabilitation animals, small mammal companion exotics, and reptile patients. Training underneath two DABVP-Avian specialists towards becoming DABVP-Avian specialized. Residency duties included everything required to credential for DABVP-Avian specialization including case logs, case reports, speaking at national and international conferences, participating in research studies, and leading or attending topic rounds. Other duties include collection management with a multiple private aquarium that contains fish, reptiles, birds, and exotic mammals within the collection, USDA inspections of a pigeon quarantine site for private shipment overseas, and working as the primary care veterinarian for Tracy Aviary, an exclusively avian AZA accredited facility.
