Did you know that people make 90% of their purchasing decisions within the first 15 seconds? We may spend hours in front of a bookshelf trying to choose the most exciting novel to read on our next trip, but by scanning contents and skimming reviews we only try to support our decision with logical reasons. We had actually decided which book to pick from the very beginning. It simply happened subconsciously, too fast for us to notice. Neuroscience proves that our decisions are driven by emotions, and emotions are processed in the limbic system of our brain, right in its very core. That’s where neuroscience meets marketing. So, my job is to guide my clients straight to their customer’s limbic system and show them how to evoke certain emotions by sending subconscious stimuli. Once engaged, emotions will not simply lead to a sale: they will create a strong pleasurable customer experience. This makes customers happy with their purchase, and this makes them loyal. Furthermore, I am interested in academic research in experiential marketing, branding, and responsible consumption. I am currently studying how ethical brand features may effect brand experience for luxury brands. Quite naturally, we prefer to think that our brand new state-of-art smartphone is made by a smart gentleman in Silicon Valley, and not by a poor boy in Chinese Village. Such “Fallacy of Clean Luxury” is a very tricky feature that once ruined may dissolve all the magic.
