Contact Avril if you are interested in learning hypnobirthing techniques for labour and birth. She runs two workshops: Natural Pain Relief and Practical Birth Preparation which together form a complete antenatal preparation for birth. They are designed for women with their birth partners as there is information and practical tips aimed particulary at helping birth partners to know how best to assist their labouring partner. workshops can be taken as part of a group or private one to one sessions can be arranged. Pregnancy Relaxation sessions can also be arranged. Natal Hypnotherapy has been developed in the UK and works well in the NHS maternity system and alongside all other kinds of antenatal education. It is a very practical and realistic approach -no special words or banned words so carers are not treading on eggshells.

Avril currently works as a fully qualified self -employed Antenatal Teacher. She is a Licensed NCT Antenatal Practitioner and a Licensed Natal Hypnotherapy Practitioner. She runs NCT Signature Antenatal Courses in Portsmouth as well as Mindful Mamma hypnobirthing workshops for women and their birth partners and women's pregancy relaxation sessions. She has previously enjoyed a career as a Teacher of History & Politics in various schools in Sussex, Hampshire Cheshire, West Midlands and Kenya. Avril has worked for the parent support charity Homestart. Currently, in addition to her work in antenatal education, (which brings in the least money but the most satisfaction,) Avril is PCC Safeguarding Rep for her local Parish Church and works part-time in a support capacity in a local school.
