In partnership with an external Asset management company the POC is to produce an initial working prototype of a web based ‘Direct to Consumer’ retail platform, comprising of actuarial powered planning tools and a retail solution for the purchase of savings products. Management and delivery of application and database Technology projects for a world-class provider of commercial intelligence and analysis to the Oil, Gas, Energy and Metals industries. Woodmac use a foundation of proprietary data and models to analyse, value and advise on assets, companies and markets and produce data driven software products to a range of customers across Energy, Financial Services and Government sectors. As such, technology plays an important part in Wood Mackenzie, with existing revenue streams and new product development plans heavily dependent upon success in this area.• Successfully managed the delivery of a new data product within condensed timescales of 8 weeks from initiation to client launch. Product takes data feeds from internal & external sources, cleans the data and then via an Oracle DB, surfaces the data through a data visualisation tool (Tibco Spotfire), allowing clients to view and manipulate the data visualisation for their own analysis.• Due to condensed timescales and unclear requirements utilised Agile methodology (SCRUM) to manage the work effort of a distributed development and test team, allowing incremental showcases to the business ensuring the product was fit for sale to clients from Day 1 of Launch.

Delivery of large scale change within a complex transformation programme, required to deliver performance and efficiency improvements to meet forthcoming changes in EU regulations & policies. Largest Scottish Government change programme with keen focus from Holyrood, Westminister and EU due to possibility of breaches of EU regulation and associated penalty costs to Scotland.

Working within Operations Technology, running a programme of change to the systems required for Transactional Reporting to the FCA(FSA). Supporting and coaching a team of developers, testers and analysts on their first Agile project, while ensuring that the business value is delivered and the regulatory requirements are met. Programme requires the update of 6 trading systems to interface via a newly developed middleware hub which performs data transformation and validation, onwards to the FCA reporting platform. Legacy software, distributed teams and the spotlight of a regulatory project were challenges to be addressed.
