After receiving my degree in Civil Engineering in 2000 with a thesis on probabilistic risk analysis for water projects, I have been active as a risk management consultant for for the past twenty years assisting a wide range of domestic and international clients with a variety of risk-related topics. Since 2017 I work as a self-employed risk consultant and have been mainly active at TenneT, the operator of the Dutch National High Voltage Grid. Here I have implemented project risk management and probabilistic analysis both for the onshore and the offshore large projects departments and have been involved as a project risk manager connecting the Borssele offshore wind farms.Besides this I'm an experienced internal auditor and have been active as a teacher in the field of risk management for various providers of post-graduate risk management education. Besides this I'm active as a keynote speaker on the subject of risk management and/or cave diving..... because, what's a risk manager who doesn't know how to handle a bit of risk himself? :-)
