Responsibilities include commissioning and procurement of contracts worth in excess of £100 million, marketing communications and coordination of the Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire Re-use Forum.Between 2012 and 2017 my team was honoured on more than 70 occasions in regional, national and international awards – ranging from the Excellence in Public Procurement Awards and the Prime Minister’s Big Society Awards to the National Recycling Awards and the International Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Excellence Awards. Speaking engagements include the Public Sector Show, the APSE Annual Environmental Services Seminar and the Local Government Procurement Network (LGPN) Showcase.I served on the Local Government Association (LGA) Reuse Commission as the sole Local Government Practitioner.

I was responsible for the company’s £1 million portfolio of social and community programmes including:a three-year headline sponsorship of Special Olympics Great Britain;six Environmental Education Centres;the Tree Council’s Tree Wardens Scheme in conjunction with 140+ local authority-led Tree Wardens Networks.

Responsibilities included marketing communications, website development and e-marketing, media relations, campaign management, programme development and community investment.I spearheaded the SolihullActive campaign - commended in the CIPR PRide Awards: Community Campaign and Public Sector Programme plus the APSE (Association for Public Service Excellence) Service Awards: Best Information and Communication Technology Initiative. The campaign achieved 75 pieces of media coverage plus 4.3 million OTS. Case Study material was published by PR Week and the Improvement and Development Agency (IDeA).I also played a key role in the development of the nationally acclaimed NS Fusion youth training and employment programme. Partners included Solihull Community Housing, Waterloo Housing, West Midlands Police, npower, Job Centre Plus and the Solihull Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership. The £500,000 five-year programme was commended in the APSE Service Awards: Best Community and Neighbourhood Initiative. Also featured in Society Guardian and Regeneration and Renewal. The programme launch was covered by: Sky Sports News, BBC TV Midlands Today, Central TV News, BBC Sport Online, The Times, Guardian Unlimited and the Metro (London).

Responsible for national campaign management plus the charity’s fundraising team.

Responsible for co-ordinating Corporate Community Investment / Involvement opportunities for the Federation of Groundwork Trusts across England and Wales. I also secured funding for Groundwork's national programmes from the private sector, statutory funding regimes and grant-making trusts.Meanwhile served as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Representative on the CIPR Midlands Group Executive Committee, and organised CSR briefings at the University of Warwick and Birmingham in conjunction with the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).

Revenue budget: £350,000 + salaries.I was the project manager for a Central Government funded web application, and represented Essex in establishing the South East Regional Traveline service through a Public Private Partnership. I was also the Essex representative on The National TravelWise® Association (NTWA).

I was the borough's nominated National Lottery Officer.My National Lottery development programme (dedicated online portal, case studies, training workshops and community information) was cited as good practice by lottery distributors, The Lottery Monitor journal and UK Fundraising. Invited to present a paper at a regional convention held at The Barbican.I helped to increase the borough’s National Lottery yield from £700,000 to £7 million.

Responsible for Business Development and Marketing Communications for the Leisure Services Division (10 sports and leisure centres + 2 golf courses). Also Media Relations for the Department of Leisure 1991-95. This included Libraries, Museums and Heritage Services, Special Events, and Community Leisure.

Responsible for sport and recreation facilities in the Tipton area.

Achieved a three-fold increase in visitors and a four-fold increase in turnover (income).Tipton Baths was highly commended for an innovative approach to marketing in the UK Sports Councils’ Management Awards 1987.The Sports Council’s Technical Unit for Sport (TUS) highlighted Tipton in a paper on enhancing the conventional pool at the 1988 Recreation Management Seminar at Wembley.The baths was a runner-up in the Recognition of Leisure Industry Achievement (ROLIA) Awards at International Leisure Industry Week.The programming and development of pools such as Tipton informed a Regional Strategy Topic Study on Swimming published by the West Midlands Council for Sport and Recreation.
