Projects: A study of landscape evolution as evidence for climate change on Mars from orbital stereo DTMs – Using high resolution stereo pairs (CTX) and stereo camera (HRSC) imagery sent back from Mars it was found that Mamers Vallis, a fretted valley located at mid- latitudes can be better understood with morphological and (crater) statistical analysis. Interpreted lateral moraines suggest a change in height of 200m on the valley floor south of a mound located at 37.85N 16.90E. Volumetric analysis show that the 32 km^2 area near the mound lost ~6.4 billion cubic metres of water ice from sublimation. These findings from recent data add to the history of obliquity driven climate change and glacial migration on Mars.Chariklo Fly-by Mission Concept – Group project to investigate the options for a probe to visit the centaur object Chariklo and discover as much as possible about its composition, motion, surface characteristics and activity. Proposal is of an extended fly-by of the target, carrying a model payload of 6 different instruments, and is designed to fit a project budget of €450M, a budget associated with the ESA M-Class missions under the Cosmic Vision programme for missions between 2015 and 2025.
