The iPad App was an "Editor's Choice" in the Apple App Store. The application connected to Trippy's API's and use geo services and MapKit to integrate data between Trippy's servers and the Apple Maps display.The Trippy Website was built using Java. A key feature of Trippy's content editor was an inline "Location Autocompleter". This allowed users to type the name of locations (cities, restaurants, attractions, etc). This created a map with markers displaying all the locations mentioned in a user's review. This also allowed snippets from different reviews to be indexed on different location pages. We used Apache Solr (similar to Elastic Search) to make pulling these search snippets more performant.
