Professor interested in devising and measuring performance improvement interventions that promote social, economic, and environmental sustainability. Have become increasingly concerned about corporate goals and strategies that are focused only on the financial bottom line and while ignoring the negative impact the narrow pursuit of profit often has on society and the environment. Toward that end, am interested in developing new methods and tools for encouraging and promoting corporate interest in business strategies that allow them to continue to earn ROI through environmentally and socially friendly business practices. My current interests look at the synthesis of brain (neuro-) science and its application to human performance in the workplace. Specifically, I'm interested in the application of this broad body of scientific literature and research to the development of wiser decision making, choices, and ultimately behavior in workplace settings. How to enhance a person's skill to "think about thinking." And, how to apply the development of those skills to approach solving complex systems problems (also known as "wicked" problems)—such as sustainability—in ways that produce more durable and valued results.Interested in the use of case studies to foster greater problem solving abilities in graduate students.
