Ever since I can remember, I have loved to create new things. I submerged myself in tales of invention, discovery, and problem solving. Hoping that one day I too could contribute to some of the myriad of astounding scientific advancements being made by humanity. Then I discovered engineering. A discipline which wrapped all these desires with a velvet bow. I was hooked. I am currently a third year Chemical Engineering student at the University of Utah, and work as a process production intern at Innophos. I believe that the skills learned in the workplace are of equal if not greater importance to those studied in the classroom. At my current position I enjoy leading a team of student employees to keep the store operating smoothly and meeting the customers' needs. I also have the responsibilities of ordering food and drink for the store at values between $1,500 & $2,000 weekly, as well as opening/closing the store as needed. I have been awarded a position on the campus store's student senate, a group composed of outstanding student employees for the purpose of convening with upper management on ways of improving the campus store experience. While I enjoy gaining leadership experience in my current position, I look forward to putting my studies in chemical engineering to use in my future career.
