About Andrew Stoll
Andrew Stoll is a Software Engineer at Fanatics at Fanatics. Colleagues describe them as "I served as Andrew’s direct manager on a team of 4 software engineers. The team's business unit focused on in-house warehouse management systems, and interfaced with multiple other units within the company. I was a transfer from another team and had a lot to learn about Logistics. Andrew was relatively new to the company at the time but quickly showed that he had become a subject matter expert in many areas in his short time with the company. He played a key role in helping me come up to speed with the systems I’d inherited. Andrew worked very well with stakeholders in defining MVP requirements for large and vaguely defined projects and planned technical implementations with great attention to detail. He also showed much curiosity and was often the source of impactful ideas for improving warehouse throughput, and efficiency. He had an eye for finding highly impactful work as it related to the current business environment. Andrew is very intuitive and personable. Our department's stakeholders always spoke very well of him, and he was the most requested engineer on the team when new projects were being planned by the business. With his combination of communication skills, business acumen, and technical ability Andrew would be a great addition to any company looking for a talented engineer and / or future engineering leader."

Application Developer
As a member of the Marketing Application Development Team, my primary role is to develop new and support existing applications, services, and APIs to allow our Marketing department to operate efficiently and effectively as the needs of the business change.Projects:2024: MidwayUSA added a reward points program. I had to quickly rewrite our promo code system to enable proper point awarding, and I was able to provide suggestions on implementation for portions of the rewards point system.2024: We swapped email providers for transactional and promotional emails. I worked with the Marketing Designers to move templates from one system to the other, I rearchitected our automated email system to facilitate easier conversion, and I performed the conversion of our automated email system to the new providers.2023: MidwayUSA wanted to create customer specific promo codes that could be given out as a reward for signing up for SMS or email promotions. I had to create a system that would add customers to a reward list after they performed a specific action on the website. The business also wanted to be able to enforce a new one-per-household limit on these promotions without degrading performance in the checkout process.2022: MidwayUSA started allowing customers to sign up for SMS shipping notifications and SMS promotions. I was able to work on the part of the system that generates and maps a shorter URL that can go into SMS messages to use less space in a message.
Application Developer
As a member of the Logistics Application Development Team, my primary role is to develop new and support existing applications, services, and APIs to allow our Logistics department to operate efficiently and effectively as the needs of the business change.Projects:2021: MidwayUSA started building a new, high-tech distribution center to move all operations into. I was made the primary developer in charge of integrating with the 3rd party PerfectPick. Almost all system design decisions were made by myself. A year after launch, this system is responsible for 70% of all outgoing order fulfillment.2020: MidwayUSA saw a huge boom in business. My team had to pivot quickly to make changes that would allow the system to handle the unprecedented load of orders. The business also relied on us to make changes to improve efficiency in the warehouse to help get the backlog down more quickly.2019: I worked on a project that would allow staffing decisions to be automated, reducing the number of admin positions needed in the warehouse.2019: MidwayUSA built a second warehouse specifically designed to house explosive powders. Previously, powder was only sold through drop shipping. This new warehouse allowed MidwayUSA to expand its product offering with better pricing. I was a part of the team that had to retrofit all systems to handle multiple warehouses and facilitate shipping internally from one campus to another. All systems had to be retrofitted to understand the new concept of subpacks.2018: I was able to rewrite MidwayUSA’s order prioritization service that was a huge potential single point of failure. New solution was designed to be more scalable and was one of the first REST APIs introduced into MidwayUSA’s ecosystem.
