Grants Manager Cultural Protection Fund
As part of the wider Culture and Development team, my work on the Cultural Protection Fund delivers this £30 million partnership between the British Council and the UK Department for Culture, Media and Sport. The Cultural Protection Fund supports projects in 12 countries across the wider Middle East that are affected by conflict. These projects support the economic and social development of people through working with heritage.https://www.britishcouncil.org/arts/culture-development/cultural-protection-fund Principle activities include:• Liaison and communication with partners, applicants and potential applicants to the fund and supporting their understanding of the aims of the Cultural Protection Fund• Acting as the first point of contact for potential grantees• Representing the fund and wider culture and development team at sector events• Setting up appropriate systems and processes for the smooth operation of a new Fund• Taking a leading role in the grant assessment process providing reports and recommendations to the Approvals Panel and advising on conditions and performance indicators.• Managing a case load of fund applicants, advising applicants on the development of their proposals and liaising with grant holders over the progress of their projects against agreed targets.
Cultural Emergency Response (Cer) Programme Officer

I work directly with the director of the programme, processing incoming applications and managing stakeholder relationships, compiling dossiers to present to the steering committee for a decision and making new contacts for second opinions. The Cultural Emergency Response programme makes allocations to disaster struck cultural heritage sites across DAC listed countries, applying emergency first aid in places where cultural heritage would otherwise be neglected and eventually destroyed.
