Axel Beaumont is a multidisciplinary artist: he studied performing arts at the Sorbonne in Paris and drama at the Studio Théâtre d'Asnière. In 2012, he became associate artist at UNDERGROUND Sugar, alongside Julie Desmet Weaver. Involved in augmented live performance and immersive experiences, he oversees the artistic projects and the many mediation pathways aimed at young audiences as part of UNDERGROUND Sugar's residency at the Campus Culturel de La Marge, in the Grand Paris sud region: for three consecutive years, he has been designing and organising hybrid events and pathways accessible to all, using new narratives and innovative technologies around the themes of the augmented body, biodiversity, robotics and artificial intelligence. These events incorporate elements such as volumetric capture, motion capture and haptic waistcoats, offering an immersive and interactive experience.Following a call for residencies in schools, he ran year-long workshops entitled "Comment créer avec le vivant" ("How to create with the living"), supported by the DRAC Île-de-France and deployed in schools, to raise awareness among secondary school pupils of artistic creation and the issues surrounding the living.He is the author of E.MOTION, an immersive 360° tale featuring an actor wearing a motion capture suit who animates 3D digital puppets in real time. This project, supported by the CNC in development and by the French Ministry of Culture's ONDA écran vivant scheme, also won the international TODA Dubai Prize. He is currently writing ONDES, an audiovisual project with the Quebec company La Grande Petite Fille Inc.His knowledge of extended reality (XR) is also strengthened by his experience as a performer in numerous augmented shows and XR experiences. He took part in the first XR edition at the Cannes Film Festival in "The Roaming" by Mathieu Pradat, with whom he collaborated to define a methodology and establish the crucial place of the live actor within experiences merging live acting and virtual reality (VR).He also plays the role of Colin in the show "L'Écume des jours", as well as in the XR form of L'Ecume des jours (in the Cube structure distributed by Dark Euphoria), both creations directed by Julie Desmet Weaver, winner of the SACD multi-screen prize. He also distinguished himself in "Entrez dans la danse", a dome experience also designed by Julie Desmet Weaver and a finalist in the prestigious NUMIX 2024 prize.He has also specialised as a MOCAP performer, consolidating his versatility and expertise in different aspects of extended reality
