After completing my degree, I started my career in a large International Consulting firm, where I twice attended specialised studies in St Charles, Illinois. After a few years, I decided that the multi-national corporate world was not for me and founded a small local IT company. After 14 years, this business was acquired by a JSE listed company and I stayed on and headed up their KZN division. After 5 years this company was in turn acquired by another larger JSE listed company. At this point I again decided to get out of the corporate world and in 2005 I was part of the founding management of a company that pioneered the technology that linked credit card machines to the banks using the GSM network. I was appointed as the Executive Head of KZN. This business grew exponentially and after 16 years was acquired by one of South Africa’s Mobile Network Operators. Again, the cycle repeated itself and I decided once again to leave the corporate world. I joined colabIT in June 2021 and currently have multiple rolls, including SDM and HR. I also headed up the company’s POPI compliance project as well as ensuring colabIT achieves the required BEE level.
