Aid for children with special needs, focusing on implementing behavioral and learning skills while providing respite for the families. Assist with the needs of the children, from focusing on schoolwork (in the school setting and at home) to gaining independence in the community to protecting them from inflicting self-harm and/or harm to others. Utilize interpersonal skills, particularly enthusiasm and patience, to stress a combination of mentorship and trust with clients.

Evaluate new patients through the administration of 1:1 non-standardized assessment/interview to obtain occupational profiles while adhering to safety protocol for self and patient. Facilitate group therapy sessions for 40-50 acute psychiatric patients with varying degrees of cognitive ability while ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment. Document patients' intake, participation, and discharge through Avatar for a caseload of 8-10 patients. Plan client-centered 1:1 sessions with patients to improve coping skills, emotional regulation, and activities of daily living engagement. Daily meetings and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team consisting of Occupational Therapists, Psychiatry and Internal Medicine Medical Doctors (MD), Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners (PMHNP), Physician Assistants (PA), and Social Workers (MSW)

Evaluate and re-evaluate pediatric clients through the administration of standardized assessments and interviews to develop treatment plans for specific occupational needs. Develop and facilitate meaningful interventions addressing client factors/occupations, including sensory needs, fine and gross motor skills, social skills, and activities of daily living. Complete comprehensive SOAP note documentation using ClinicSource software. Design and create a Halloween sensory room/experience alongside fellow OTS that challenged children to engage in various sensory activities. Interdisciplinary collaboration with Speech Language Pathology (SLP)

Provide behavior intervention services at home and in school. Impart ongoing parent and teacher training. Implement behavior treatment plans and skill acquisition plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.

Create multiple study questionnaires in REDCap, making them available to participants via in-person tablet, hard copy, or email. Responsible for study coordination, including patient recruitment, screening, focus groups, follow-up interview/visit coordination, and data collection. Provide participants with guidelines and instructions on using the tools necessary for studies (usability testing) and respond to questions as needed.
