I had the privilege to work for the Eugenio Mendoza Foundation in Caracas . The arts program was started in 1956 ( just turned 60) . The creation of an art gallery ( one of the most influential in Venezuela ) was meant to introduce the capital ' public to contemporary Venezuelan and foreign art . The Sala Mendoza is still in operation at the Metropolitan University Campus , Caracas . Former directors include Lourdes Blanco de Arroyo, Margot Römer , Cecilia Fajardo Hill and Ariel Jiménez

As a curator and researcher I worked along a great team in the museum ' transitional period . The museum had recently lost half of its collections to the newly created Galería de Arte Nacional. MBA 's research department became the now long gone CIDAPAL , Centro de investigación del Arte para América Latina . The Centre generated the Museum exhibitions . I personally took care of the [Cuban artist] Agustín Cárdenas and [ Swiss artist] Max Bill among others
