Axel is a Managing Director with Greentec Ave., Canada. In this role, he is trusted with leading international project teams, providing technology transfer and commodity transaction services, technical and financial due-diligence, supply chain and liaison management, sales representation, and account management. He has gained more than twenty years of valuable Management experience in a diverse range of industry sectors.From 2009 to 2011, Axel worked as Research Consultant with the National Research Council (NRC), at times co-financed by the UBC ISIS Research Centre (today known as the Centre for Social Innovation & Impact Investing, Sauder S3i). In this capacity, he compiled the BC Clean Energy Study 2009 & 2010, and developed a complete concept for a technology demonstration centre, which aimed to attract high-tech industry to BC.Passionate and active in BC’s energy and resource space, Axel has worked in support of BC’s Clean Tech and Resource sectors, helping to lead Canadian construction companies, research centres, and IPPs, as well as venture capitalists in the transfer and implementation of first-of-its-kind technologies to BC, Canada. He also supported Canadian wood-processing companies and pellet producers in commodity-transaction and sales processes to Europe. Over the course of his professional career, projects to which Axel has contributed have been recognised by globally influential groups such as KPMG, Capgemini Ernst & Young, 3i Group, and the Ministry of Economic Affairs. He holds Canadian Citizenship, and has earned an MBA in General Management from the University of British Columbia, a M.Sc. in Economics from the University of Regensburg. Axel lives with his family in Vancouver, where he enjoys gardening, playing music, and participating in local sports. By far his favourite pastime, though, is camping with his wife and son beside lakes, rivers, and forests, in the beautiful British Columbian countryside.
