Dr. Aya currently acts as the Strategy and Governance Officer in Information & Technology. She boasts over six years of expertise in Engineering Management and more than four years in research focusing on sustainable development, decision modeling, problem solving techniques and urban-transport planning within smart cities. Dr. Aya possesses substantial research experience that enhances decision-making and strategic planning. She has contributed to numerous high-impact journals and conference papers, with her studies being published in respected journals such as Sustainable Development (Wiley), Transportation Research Interdisciplinary Perspectives (Elsevier), and Sustainable Smart Cities and Territories (Springer). Her interdisciplinary Ph.D. research, which bridges industry practices, concentrates on the development of an integrated decision support system and data analytics across various sectors in sustainable and smart cities, including transportation, urban systems, education, technology integration, and data management. Beyond her academic endeavors, Dr. Aya is passionate about entrepreneurship and continual improvement. She earned a graduate diploma in Entrepreneurship and Business Applications and, along with her team, was recognized as a top 10 project at the Arab Innovation Academy, QSTP, Qatar in 2019. In addition to her professional and research activities, Dr. Aya is deeply committed to sustainable development and advocates for scientifically informed policy implications.
