At IBM, I am the Vice President of AI Technologies for the IBM Research AI organization and the Lab Director of IBM Research Lab in Israel. Working at IBM research means looking at the entire spectrum of the problem domain - from market analysis, through product definition, to solving the toughest technical challenges, and finally getting into the field and into the hands of customers. In my role I have the privilege of working with some of the most talented innovators in the world and help shape their ideas into new technology that can bring scientific and commercial value. An important part of my job is making sure these amazingly talented people have the freedom and flexibility to be creative and continue to dream up new ideas. The Research lab in Israel focuses on AI, Hybrid Cloud, Security, Accelerated Discovery for Healthcare and Life Science. Our motto is "Innovation that Matters", creating technologies and performing breakthrough Research that will help transform businesses and solve problems that make a difference. As a Vice President in IBM Research I also work on shaping IBM Research strategy in this area and with the corporate in general on future directions for the products. These days my main focus is on watsonx 0 IBM's foundation model solution. What does it take to provide safe & secure, foundation models for enterprises to deploy.From a technical perspective, I am interested in all matters of information exploitation. We have only touched the surface. The prospects of having information work for us, while having our privacy remain protected is both exciting and challenging.Specialties: Moving innovations from ideas to practice, understanding of digital information / media and its potential value both from a deep technology and market perspective.
