Hi, I’m Ayan—a Digital Media Professional and Digital Humanities (DH) Fellow based in India, with extensive experience in digital archiving across diverse domains, including literature, sports, and business. I specialize in preserving culturally significant manuscripts, documents, and literary works through advanced image processing and metadata management, making these resources accessible for future generations.I currently lead two impactful projects. The first is the Knowledge Equity Fund Project by the Wikimedia Foundation, where I am developing a scalable, community-driven archive model tailored for remote regions, aimed at closing knowledge gaps and empowering diverse voices. The second, Sabdakalpa: An Online Historical Dictionary, involves building a comprehensive Bengali word corpus from existing literature, where I oversee OCR processes and curate an essential resource for Bengali language research.In my role at Victoria Memorial Hall, I coordinate an extensive digitization project, managing a team of three fellows to transform valuable historical documents into digital resources. Previously, I served as a Research Fellow on this initiative, and my role has since expanded to include project leadership and team management.My professional background spans versatile archiving projects. At the Endangered Archives Programme (EAP) 1525 at the British Library, I contributed to a business archive of historic trade reports from the Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry. At Jadavpur University, I led the Gurbux Singh Sports Archive Project, which commemorates the legacy of the celebrated Indian field hockey player, and contributed to the Jibanananda Das Papers Project, preserving the manuscripts of this iconic Bengali poet for literary scholarship.In addition to these roles, I teach Digital Archiving and Digital Visualization as part of the Digital Humanities and Cultural Informatics program at Jadavpur University, where I guide students in innovative, technology-driven approaches to preserving cultural heritage.Beyond my academic and archival work, I offer consultancy services with my team to brands across various industries, including healthcare, Ed-tech, and apparel. We specialize in creating tailored digital strategies that encompass brand development, content planning, and audience targeting, helping our clients strengthen their online presence and reach their marketing goals.
