The project aimed to solve the material flow deficiencies of armor steel plates throughout their manufacturing process from entry to exit, caused by the inefficient layout plan of the factory, in the scope of time, workforce and distance reductions. Problematic locations in the factory were determined by using Spaghetti diagram. Current system was analyzed by using ARENA program and report results were used for obtaining a new solution to improve material handling processes and provide efficient usage of resources. The goal of the project was to define storage areas with defined descriptions and orders, which leads to a standardization that is sustainable and productive.
