Part time summer job. I worked at the Jewish Community Center pool in Raleigh as an outsourced lifeguard. Work comprised of keeping the community safe while they were at the pool, making sure the pool was kept clean, and managing the community's camp swim and swim lessons. As the head guard I had managerial duties as well. These included opening and closing the pool, managing my fellow lifeguards, and serving as an ambassador of the lifeguards to the staff of the Raleigh JCC. I also had to perform chemical checks and adjustments of the pool and had to perform some simple repairs on the pool filtration system. During my time there I led an effort to remodel the "guardroom" and in doing so I got the project fundraised via pitching it to the JCC staff (who could then take the project to their board), created a detailed remodeling plan, and got lifeguards to volunteer work hours on their days off to help me.
