Aydın GÜNDOĞDU was born in Mesudiye, Ordu. He completed his undergraduate studies in Management Engineering at Istanbul Technical University (ITU) and earned his master’s degree in the same field at ITU. He received his PhD from Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University in the field of Islamic Economics and International Finance.He began his career at Kuveyt Türk, working in various capacities in financial analysis, intelligence, marketing, credit, and allocation. Over the years, he held senior management positions in these areas, including Unit Manager, Group Manager, Deputy General Manager, General Manager, and Board Member. His career has spanned multiple domains such as retail banking, SME banking, commercial and corporate banking, product development, organizational management, and corporate communication, where he contributed to establishing and managing these departments.Among his notable achievements, he was part of the team that led the unprecedented merger of two banks (Anadolu and Family Finans). He also contributed to selling one of these banks (Türkiye Finans) to an international institution (CNB) at a multiplier of 5.6—achieving the best price in its category. He gained significant experience in mergers and acquisitions during these processes. Additionally, he led his team in developing the business model for a new digital participation bank and obtaining its establishment license. He also played a key role in the acquisition and ongoing operations of JCR Eurasia Rating and contributed to other major projects during this time.Currently, he serves as an independent board member at JCR Eurasia and as a member of the Investment Committee of fonangels.com, where he is also a shareholder. He is an angel investor, actively supporting startups by providing resources, regulatory guidance, education, and institutional development.
