The Houston Area Association for the Education of Young Children (HAAEYC) is one of the largest chapter affiliates of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), a national organization comprised of early care and education professionals. Our mission is to promote and support high quality care and education for young children through improved professional practice and broadened public awareness. A nonprofit, volunteer organization, HAAEYC is governed by a 16 member board elected by the membership.

The NAEYC Annual Conference & Expo is the largest early childhood education conference in the world, where tens of thousands of educators choose from hundreds of presentations and exhibits. As as NAEYC Conference Proposal Reviewer I am charged with the tasks of:Completing an online review of proposals for topic track(s) within my area of expertiseSelecting a designated number of proposals across session typesCollaborating with a fellow peer reviewer to recommend the best proposals for each track

Responsible for the attainment and retention of the National Association for the Education of Young Children's Accreditation for all MMS campuses.Facilitate staff training's including annual requirements, on-boarding, child safety, and corporate overview. Representation of MMS within boards of various local early childhood organizations and within the larger early childhood community.

The President serves as the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for general supervision and operation of the club. The President presides at club meetings and leads the executive committee in planning and accomplishing club responsibilities and goals.

Responsible for marketing The Rushion and Cicely McDonald Scholarship at the University of Houston for the College of Mathematics and Sciences and the College of Optometry. Lead a committee of volunteers through the selection process of scholarship recipientsIdentified and awarded over $80,000 in scholarships to deserving students on the campus of The University of Houston
