Bootstrapped startup building a SaaS platform for managers and teams to employ research proven processes (e.g. 1:1s, team health checks, goal setting) that strengthen teamwork and help deliver results.- Led product design and roadmap, leaning on evidence based management theories (e.g. ​Self Determination Theory)​ , and grew the business to achieving several paid customers.- Recruited team (3 people) for development, and operations; led architecture and API design, and collaborated on implementation and operations.- Designed multi-tiered architecture utilizing various AWS services (e.g. SNS/SQS, lambda, Redis, and Postgres) and integrations with 3rd parties APIs (e.g. Slack, Stripe, Google Calendar, Mailchimp, Intercom, Mixpanel).

Led the Search and Product platform agile teams (12+ person) responsible for zappos.com ​and 6pm.com​.- Acted in an engineering leadership role on the e-commerce Holacracy circle, leading other website teams and managers with respect to removing roadblocks, architecture reviews, and coordinating roadmaps.- Supported multiple platform applications (i.e. core APIs, indexing, monitoring, Solr, SEO url generator) in addition to the web applications and kept latencies below 50ms with capability to handle 10x holiday season traffic.- Drove progression of direct reports in a servant leader role, while fostering collaboration and recognition with “Spark-athons” and end-of-sprint “Chewy” awards.- Doubled the platform team size and was the first website engineering team to deliver continuous deployments through A/B production pools, better test coverage, code review tools, and modularized applications.- Helped create an engineering internship program and participated in on-campus and local recruiting events.

Led a 10+ person team responsible for an enterprise grants management SaaS product.- Helped establish the hiring program and led the development team through architecture & codereviews, coding standards, deployment processes, and consistent 1:1s.- Designed the multi-tiered architecture with availability and fault tolerant considerations at eachtier that successfully handled launch day traffic.- Delivered a customized disaster relief grant application solution which was used to distributeover 2 billion dollars in direct assistance to Hurricane Katrina victims in the states of Louisiana and Mississippi.
