Funded by the National Health and Medical Research Council, as well as New South Wales health and local health districts, this program aims to prevent diabetes through comprehensive health checks, peer support, and the inclusion of children. PPDP offers a unique opportunity to promote healthy living within the Pasifika community by integrating research, support, and education in a church-based setting. As a student researcher, I was involved in gathering qualitative and quantitative data at data collections via surveys and hands on clinical measurements to facilitate the initial screenings of potential participants.
