As Gas & Power Trading CIO my organisation is accountable for digital vision, strategy, planning, delivery, operations and capabilities for European and International energy trading. My accountability covers front, middle and back-office for all of gas and power products and derivatives, including LNG and renewable energy.Additionally I am accountable for Global Customer Experience, Global Structured Products as well as digital innovation in Europe.

In my current role of CIO for energy trading my accountabilities include technology vision, strategy, planning, delivery, operations and capabilities for my part of BP’s trading organization. BP supply and trading is one of the largest and most successful commodities trading business in the world. I have global accountabilities for all technologies in support of trading activities before a trade is executed like counterparty and risk management, and after trades are executed like confirmations, compliance, finance and settlements. I also have additional accountability leading the "Connected Innovation" program across Supply & Trading globally. An initiative to embed digital innovation culture across front, middle and back-office in all businesses and functions.

In this role I had CIO accountabilities for a number of Corporate Functions including: Group Communications, Legal and Risk. In addition as head of Strategy & Planning, I was accountable for managing a portfolio of over $200m, which included setting the vision and defining long-term strategy and roadmaps. I was also accountable for overall portfolio planning, Digital Security and Architecture.Winner – “Inspiration of the Year” 2015 FDM everywoman in Technology Awards

As Head of the newly created Shared Services, I was accountable for delivering a number of IT services to the trading organisation of BP. This included programme and project delivery services, as well as technical services such as Infrastructure, Reporting, Integration and Collaboration. This resulted in a much improved delivery quality at a significantly reduced cost.

Led several +$50m business transformation programmes which included a Transaction Pipe for Global Oil Trading, Global Market Risk platform, Global Pricing business and an Enterprise Integration Bus.

Worked with a number of investment banks and trading houses, including BP on major transformation programs.

Joined the bank through the Grad Scheme as a Software Developer, rapidly progressed to IT Manager. As the IT manager I was accountable for all aspects of the IT Department including, strategy, standards, planning, budgeting, people, delivery and operations. Specific achievements included the successful delivery of a number of projects such as Y2K, the Euro Implementations and a Back Office Centralisation programme.
