As the Protection Team Leader for DRC in Anbar, Iraq, I oversee a team of three General Protection Officers and four Protection Assistants, ensuring the effective implementation of high-quality protection activities in line with international standards and DRC guidelines.I supervise and support the team through regular meetings, guidance, and performance reviews, fostering a professional and accountable working environment. Key responsibilities include recruitment, onboarding, and capacity building to maintain high standards within the team. I develop and implement work plans to ensure the timely delivery of protection activities, including legal aid, community-based protection (CBP), case management, and GBV response.I monitor the identification of vulnerable individuals and ensure effective referrals to appropriate internal and external services, including child protection cases. Oversight includes Community Safe Spaces and mobile team activities, ensuring compliance with DRC SOPs and financial guidelines.In coordination forums, I represent DRC, advocating for vulnerable individuals and building strong relationships with stakeholders. I also collaborate with other DRC sectors to integrate protection into broader programming and maintain updated service mappings to enhance referrals.I manage protection databases, adhering to data protection principles, and support reporting, proposals, and budget inputs for the Project Manager. Working closely with the MEAL department, I evaluate the impact of protection activities and recommend improvements.I ensure adherence to DRC’s Code of Conduct, particularly regarding SEA, and uphold programmatic and policy standards. My role is dedicated to fostering a safe, inclusive environment for persons of concern while ensuring professional growth and collaboration within the team.

Diyālá, Iraq

- Focal Point for Mansouriya MT.- Provision of legal aid services- legal information dissemination, counseling, assistance, and representation to community members of different ages, gender, and abilities (including people with disabilities). Everything related to civil documentation and housing, land, and property issues HLP and juveniles in detention.- Financial assistance under the legal aid program fund.- Undertake local advocacy and mediation for the mutual resolution of legal cases (e.g., eviction threats, property disputes) in Diyala.- Maintaining their case data within relevant legal trackers and databases, following up on referrals, and contributing report inputs. Quality of the planning, implementation, and follow-up on legal services provided. Identification of vulnerable people in need of individual protection support (case management and/or individual protection assistance), ensuring timely referral, and coordinating a multidisciplinary response.- Support capacity-building activities of community groups, civil society organizations, and local NGOs.Coordination and representation:- Maintaining effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders including relevant legal entities (CAD, courts, etc.), local government institutions/municipalities, (I)NGOs, community leaders, and service - providers, report any changes to these relationships/policies to the Team Leaders.- Maintain up-to-date mapping of the service providers operating in the area and coordinate with the Case Management team and CBP/PSS team when necessary.Logistics/Finance/MEAL:- Maintain up-to-date legal aid case files and ensure information management principles are respected at all times.- Support Protection Team Leader and Project Manager in submitting internal reports as requested, and providing inputs for evidence-based advocacy.- Organize the implementation of monitoring and evaluation exercises, tracking target achievements of the legal aid program.

- Supervise and lead ERD field team in Ramadi (lead ERD enumerators) and ensure high-quality data collection using SEVAT tool.- Follow the SOPs of the projects and make sure the indicators and targets are tracking on time.Supervising the evaluation, preparing distribution plans. Distribution smoothly and overcoming challenges. It was able to achieve the desired goal by distributing multi-purpose cash assistance (MPCA) to 550 HH’s in Ramadi areas.

- Representation of client before Iraqi courts in the Family Law and Civil Cases (Housing, Land, and Property (HLP) issues, financial issues). Juveniles in detention (Defense and representation of minors who have committed criminal offenses. Work to defend children, raise public awareness of legal and social issues that involve children and adolescents, and represent their best interests to the court), Criminal Cases, and other proceedings on legal transactions. Handle commercial and corporate matters, including company registry, tax, and social security.

- Focal point with WFP partner at Anah site.- Supervise and lead the Distribution team in Anah (lead 3 Distribution assistants, 25 Daily workers, Supervising Data Entry assistant, Food Quality and Safety assistant (FQS), and 2 Hygiene Promotion) and ensure high quality and According to the SOP.It was also able to control the mechanism of food distribution (School Feeding (SFP) for primary school students in Anah City. The number of students consisted of 6000, and food was distributed to them four days per week.

- Provide legal consultation and representation, for compensation cases discrimination cases related to compensation, proof of land ownership, and registration in the Tapu office.- Conduct individual sessions providing legal information and legal counseling for the juveniles in a detention center and rehabilitation school for boys and girls, and in the observation house in Anbar, and the juvenile’s families.- Responsible for the care, security, reporting, observation, supervision, and guidance of juveniles in residence.- Coordinate closely with customary, humanitarian, and peacebuilding actors working in the customary justice system to facilitate access, provide training on Registration / Civil Documentation (RCD) and Housing, Land & Property (HLP) rights, and provide ongoing technical support and mentorship to customary justice actors.- Supports compilation and writing of daily, monthly, and quarterly updates.- Writing regular narrative and quantitative reports for the donor on activities conducted.In addition to my above-mentioned responsibilities, I worked with the following, Acting like a child protection officer, providing support in case management, field monitoring, and FGD. Providing logistical support to the logistics officer of the Erbil office (Fleet Management, Procurement, Reporting). Providing security support and carrying out security checks in the targeted areas of the security director in the Erbil office.
