• I oversee the analysis and policy recommendations ZEP provides to EU decision-makers on industrial carbon management. I coordinate the work of several of our committees and working groups, and I represent ZEP in various expert groups, research networks, industry forums, and external events.• ZEP was established in 2005 and works to accelerate the safe and targeted deployment of both CCS/CCU technologies and CO₂ infrastructure in line with Europe’s climate objectives.• ZEP manages the European Technology and Innovation Platform (ETIP) for CCS and permanent CCU technologies and co-chairs the Implementation Working Group (IWG9) on CCS and CCU under the EU Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET Plan). ZEP monitors the progress of research and innovation in these sectors and provides recommendations to the European Commission and the SET Plan countries on the actions needed to accelerate their deployment.• ZEP is a member of the Innovation Fund Expert Group (IFEG) and the Carbon Removal Expert Group (CREG). ZEP is also actively engaged in the Industrial Carbon Management Forum (previously known as CCUS Forum) organised by the European Commission. ZEP co-chaired some of the first Working Groups and continues to contribute directly to the drafting of their reports.• Finally, ZEP maintains direct contact with the ministries of many EU Member States and the relevant national authorities responsible for regulating CO2 flows in order to align EU and national strategies and to promote cross-border cooperation.• ZEP’s technical and policy advice draws on the expertise and experience of a broad and diverse member base, ranging from energy producers and industrial companies to infrastructure and equipment providers, environmental NGOs, academic researchers, and trade unions.

Guest lecturer for the course "Understanding the challenges of Climate Change" organised by Prof Hélène Desmyttère at the Université Catholique de Lille. My lectures focus on climate science, the (geo)politics of climate change, and EU climate policies.
