Within the CTIO role, I manage the Mobile, Fixed, IT, Infrastructure and Cyber security domains within Vodacom DRC. Accountability goes from strategy localization, design, planning, implementation and operations across these domains. In addition, looking after Technology business continuity, risk management, and processes continuous improvement.

Responsible for design, planning, optimization and service assurance of the 2G/3G/4G Radio Network.Responsible for Energy engineering and long-term planning of Radio sites and Access layer.Responsible for the Digital transformation of Radio processes, work-flow, and new tools and platforms introduction through Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning and Analytics.

Responsible for E2E Technology Strategy formulation and governance, Technology Budget Planning and governance, Technology key Vendors Management and governance, in addition to Business support activities.

 Manage the implementation of the annual 2G/3G Sites Rollout and Site upgrade plans in alignment with commercial requirements in terms of voice and data. Manage Radio activities towards fulfilling 2G and 3G NTRA license commitment for Coverage, Capacity and main Network KPIs (Call Dropped Rate, Call Failure Rate and Voice Quality). Manage access network preventive and corrective maintenance activities (Radio, Transmission and Electromechanical) to achieve agreed network quality and network availability. Ensure concluding the optimum contracts renewals for our sites for controlled opex spending, in addition to resolution of all non-technical problems (theft, access, guarding, permits, ..). Manage all activities towards the goal of achieving full Internal and External customer delight (NPS, Network satisfaction tracker, Network Benchmarking, Customers complaints). Ensure the alignment of Technology strategy implementation with Vodafone Global Technology functions. Manages the interface with the Regulatory Department for NTRA / Governmental bodies inquires and requests. Ensures the implementation of VF Global guidelines in terms of EMF, Responsible Network Deployment, and Safety regulations among all Team Members, Vendors and Contractors. Supports the budget setting and submission process, when needed, and engage in the Capex/Opex cost efficiency techniques and new solutions. Manage the allocated budget (CAPEX and OPEX) to deliver the needed targets. Manages the direct reports team in their line of duty and Coaches, develops and motivates the direct reports to enhance their management capabilities and build their proper career path.

 Leads Southern Region Access Networks Radio activities towards fulfilling 2G and 3G license commitment for Coverage, Capacity and main Quality KPIs.  Ensures the implementation of the annual regional 2G/3G Site Rollout and Site upgrade plans in alignment with commercial requirements in terms of voice and data. Supports and participates in the alignment of Access Networks technology strategy implementation with Vodafone Global Technology functions. Manages the interface with the Regulatory Department for NTRA / Governmental bodies inquires and requests for Southern region. Ensures the implementation of VF Global guidelines in terms of EMF, Responsible Network Deployment, and Safety regulations among all Team Members, Vendors and Contractors. Support the budget setting and submission process, when needed, and engage in the Capex/Opex cost efficiency techniques and new solutions. Ensure concluding the optimum renewal deals for VF live sites. Ensure to resolve all non-technical related problems (stealth, access, permits, ..) in Southern region live sites. Manages the direct reports team in their line of duty to Plan, Deploy, Test and Optimize the Radio Access Networks.  Coaches, develops and motivates the direct reports to enhance their management capabilities and build their proper career path.  Communicates and motivates other team members through different forums and meetings to ensure their full engagement towards achieving the targets. Ensure issuance of regular and statistical reports to Management to indicate the Department Status, Achievements, Issues and Support needed

The main scope of work is providing business support to the Network development Director in the areas of budget (Capex and Opex) governance across all relevant departments (Access, Transport, Core and Deployment), and ensuring that all budgetary issues are being well controlled in terms of; phasing, submissions, actualization and inventory delivery and warehousing. Managing the needed justifications for budget cuts/add-on across the functions. Moreover, leading cross-functional projects across the relevant departments.
