About Ayodeji Ogunro
Ayodeji Ogunro is a documentary photographer, graphics artist and filmmaker. He is interested in human-interest stories that create consciousness about social issues. He is interested in how human cultures are formed and how they shape our perception of the world. He received certificate training in documentary at New York film academy summer workshop 2016 and Storytelling by Canon Miraisha Programme in 2018. He is a member of the African Photojournalism Database (APJD), a joint project of WorldPress Photo Foundation and Everyday Africa, a member of Unabashed Africa, a group of creatives with interest in documentary media across Africa, and a fellow at Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI).His continuous learning and networking is evident in his active participation of events such as the Fashola Photographic Foundation, The Now Collective Conference, Nigeria Photography Expo & Conference. Ayodeji's works was exhibited at the Abuja International Photo Festival, 2017 and Canon Africa Alumina Exhibition and African Artist Foundation, Lagos 2018. He was the second runner up at the 9mobile 2019 competition.He has carried out assignment for notable organizations both locally and internationally. As a storyteller and strong advocate of Africa stories, he has personal works on cultural and environmental documentary projects, such as: The Untold Story of the Fulanis, Nigeria Tribal Marks, Kenyan Maasai, Lifestyle in IDP, Flooding in Nigeria, The Plight of People living with Disabilities in Nigeria, and many more. He is currently the Senior Special Assistant on photography/Personal Photographer to the Governor of Ekiti State; Dr. Kayode Fayemi.
