• Monitoring and enforcement of the operating procedures.• Timeously advising the Toll Plaza Manager of any irregularities concerning prescribed procedures or matters which could adversely affect the operation.• Advising the Supervisors next on duty (by means of entries in the Communications Log) of any pertinent information or instructions received from higher authority. • Safeguard and hand over monies to the nominated collection agency according to the prescribed procedures (where necessary).• Constantly monitor queue lengths and service times and apply applicable manning levels accordingly.• Periodic monitoring of computed real-time transactions being processed by various toll collectors on duty.• Periodic monitoring and processing of gaps in transactions and affected declarations that may arise• Correctly apply the procedures involved in the start-of-shift, break-in-shift and end-of –shift.• Ensure that all floats, documentation and other requirements are prepared before the arrival of the next shift.• Ensure that the Toll Plaza staff adheres to the prescribed uniform code at all times.• Be actively involved in the training of new staff and re-training of existing staff.• Constantly evaluate the performance of applicable staff to be able to provide input to the Plaza Manager for salary increase/promotion/disciplinary purposes.• Conduct inspections of the Plaza generator, transformer and other facilities as per laid down schedules and advise the Operation & Maintenance dept. of any irregularities.• Prepare shift roster on a monthly basis and maintain record of all toll collector shifts• Coordinate activities of emergency services when incidents/ accidents occur at the Toll Plaza• Ensure that staff manning levels are adequate for the prevailing traffic volumes• Carry out first-aid to injured staff and users • Participate in the departmental meetings and activities as required.• Perform other duties as assigned by the plaza manager.

Receiving and safe keeping of cash declared by the Toll Collector

1. issuance of lane float to the Toll Collectors before going to the lane.2. Receiving and safe-keeping of money declared by the Toll collectors and POS staff at the end of their shift.3. Receiving of all necessary document from toll collectors.4. Creation of money bags for all money received and drop it in appropriate place.5. Cash management.
