Today few platforms take into account the peculiar nature of the African environment in providing solutions to critical energy and resource needs. Instead, we see advocates adopting a one size fits all approach to policy solutions for environmental and energy issues, without regard to the specific challenges and opportunities policymakers will encounter in the African context. EnviroMemos is responding to those problems by creating a platform to publish articles and engage in advocacy that takes local peculiarities and conditions into account in proposing policy recommendations geared towards environmental protection. EnviroMemos supports Goals 6, 7, 11 and 13 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: Clean Water and Sanitation; Affordable and Clean Energy; Sustainable Cities and Communities; and Climate Action.
